StandardVision Artist Showcase: Kaleidoscopic Abstractions by Artist and Illustrator Amber Vittoria

StandardVision has curated a site-specific artist showcase from artist and wrtier Amber Vittoria on view across a number of StandardVision’s large-scale exterior displays throughout Los Angeles through March 31st.

An artist, illustrator, and poet based in Los Angeles, Amber Vittoria leverages the fluidity of her ink, color pencil and acrylic paints to create aqueous rainbow gradients that draw on her relationship with emotion and identity. Punctuated by simple graphite line drawings, abstracted forms, ribbons of color and joyous words, her work represents the nuances of emotion, beauty, nostalgia, and societal expectations. Her practice spans across multiple disciplines, including fiction and poetry, illustrations, as well as physical artworks and digital companion pieces.

Surreal, colorful and abstract, Vittoria’s work appeals to our imagination. Her work challenges gender stereotypes and forces us to rethink how we see the female form, employing intimate details to tell a relatable story about womanhood and aiming to dismantle societal tropes that are set upon women both emotionally and physically. With a background in design, Vittoria tends to approach her work with composition, color, and balance at the forefront, allowing the story to develop organically. She has begun to lean into some of the subconscious patterns she was making from piece to piece which has informed her most recent body of work.

Amber Vittoria is an artist, poet, and author working in Los Angeles, California. She has several sold-out collections, is a Forbes 30 Under 30 Recipient,  One Club Young Gun, Society of Illustrators Gold Medalist, American Illustration Chosen Winner, AOI World Illustration Overall Winner, and ADC Annual Award Winner. Her work has been recognized by Print Magazine, It’s Nice That, Computer Arts, HuffPost, and Teen Vogue. Some of her clients include Facebook, Warby Parker, Apple, The New York Times, NBC, Google, Gucci, Condé Nast, Adidas, and Snapchat.

Catch works from Amber Vittoria on view at the Courtyard Marriott LA Live, 3rd Street Crossing, 888 N Vermont, and Kurve LA, through March 31st, and learn more about the artist on her Instagram.
