StandardVision Artist Showcase: Meditative Minimalism with Artist Zach Bodtorf

In collaboration with Vellum LA, StandardVision continues its site specific art programming on the large-scale curved exterior digital facade at Melrose & Spaulding with generative artist Zach Bodtorf’s Squarewave series, on view through November 30th.

Based in Vermont, Bodtorf’s meditative and minimal artwork incorporates a variety of elements including data from audio samples, dimensional reduction algorithm, orthographic projections, and genetic self-replicating systems. His Squarewave series is a collection of glyphs generated using pulse waves, where the amplitude alternates evenly between a minimum and maximum value. Created using Python, these glyphs—which resemble translucent geometric structures—are as hypnotic as they are striking.

Catch Bodtorf’s Squarewave series on view at the exterior digital facade at Melrose & Spaulding through November 30th, and learn more about his work on his Instagram.
