StandardVision Artist Showcase: Expansion of Healing and Empowerment with Creative Aya’s HerVoice Collection

In collaboration with Vellum LA, StandardVision has curated a site-specific artist showcase of selected works from artificial intelligence (AI) artist collective and media studio Creative Aya’s #HerVoice series, on view across a number of StandardVision’s large-scale exterior displays throughout Los Angeles through October 31st.

Founded by AI artist and data scientist Aya, Creative Aya.ai is a global co-creative art studio focused on AI-driven art experiences. The HerVoice NFT collection was co-created by Aya, Warrior Love Productions founder and poet Melissa Jun Rowley, choreographers Nneka and Ty Luna, and creative director Visionnaire. Taking elements of poetry and dance, Aya used python code to develop the following generative animation shorts to amplify the importance of expanding opportunities for women and girls around the world, the core mission of the #HerVoice Web3 Initiative, a groundbreaking use case for blockchain technology.

In partnership with CARE.org and Warrior Love Productions, the digital assets are designed as a vehicle for public good to record altruistic endeavors on-chain, automate and distribute funds internationally, and utilize the Ethereum blockchain to perpetually fund #HerVoice initiatives. The collection will launch on Solis.io on Giving Tuesday, November 29.

With 12 years of experience and a master's in Biostatistics and Public Health, from Boston University, Aya has developed over a dozen AI-driven software products for commercial and government clients.  Her work sits at the intersection of art, science, and technology, generating visuals often inspired by storytelling, poetry, and lyrics. Her visual narratives explore the questions: How can we co-create with AI to transcend stories centered around Black trauma into visual narratives that invoke a sense of inspiration, empowerment, and healing?  How can we use augmentation technologies to reveal artifacts and cultures that have been/are in the process of erasure? Experimenting with the blend of natural language processing and computer generative rendering, her work invites a dialogue that opens a realm to an alternative speculative interpretation of historically marginalized experiences.

Catch the HerVoice series on view at Melrose & Spaulding, the facade at the Courtyard Marriott LA Live, 3rd Street Crossing, and 888 N Vermont, through October 31st, and learn more about Creative Aya on their website.
