StandardVision Artist Showcase: A Poetic Expansion of Time with Artist Mia Forrest

An Australia-based visual artist, Mia Forrest’s work explores surreal and imaginative ways to expand time. Her genesis NFT project, Bloom, is a mesmerizing and abstract study in botanicals. The collection is a time-based motion project which uses slit scan photo imaging and time remapping to hypnotically transform vivid plant life into uniquely surreal forms. The series very quickly sold out and was a top ten weekly trending collection on Foundation.

In 2022, Forrest released Bloom II which was exhibited as part of the Vellum LA X Artsy “Artists Who Code” exhibition, coinciding with Women’s History Month and NFT LA. Forrest’s work has been exhibited worldwide at galleries and festivals, including the Cannes AVIFF Art Festival, Channels International Biennial of Video Art at the Australian Center for Moving Image, Queensland Film Festival, and Aesthetica Film Festival. Her artwork has been recognized by the Photo Collective Australian Photography Awards Documentary Category (finalist 2021), the Queensland Music Awards Music Video Category (finalist 2016, 2020).
