StandardVision follows up Sallie Harrison’s artist takeover on the SVLA1 screen at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles with work by Philipp Heer, aka Lerichti. Lerichti is the latest of many artists, to be invited to take over a week-long recurring 15-second spot to showcase their work to the public.

Lerichti’s work aesthetically adheres to the month’s theme, Architecture, as an Instagram star photographer of Swiss architecture. Lerichti has always loved taking photographs of beautiful buildings. He discovered this passion while traveling as a child. Although he has no background in architecture, his photography displays a high degree of knowledge and insight, because of the care he takes to caption his Instagram posts, and his artistic approach to the work. His photos are dynamic and colorful, capturing architecture in a way that lends the buildings life and personality through unconventional angles, skewed perspective, and pattern repetition. Lerichti conveys the scale and grandeur of each edifice by the inclusion of a single person for scale, color blocking, or by including the vast sky in the background.

He particularly admires the work of Herzog and de Meuron, and says that his photos of the buildings of Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, are a big hit. Lerichti says Swiss architecture is not necessarily a shocking or flashy style of architecture: "You often have to take a second look to see what's really interesting.” Lerichti’s favorite is his photo of the University of Lucerne. The building evokes the shape of Switzerland's most famous mountain, the Matterhorn.
