Production in the post Covid-19 era

The past year has seen an explosion in virtual production techniques. High production value is no longer limited to big-budget film and television shoots, as digital scene-making has been applied to a wide variety of industries and performances.

Technology advances in LED displays, camera sensor systems, and real-time video processing have led to a rapid and successful adoption of these production techniques by industry professionals. The popularity of extremely high production value commercial projects that utilized this technology (eg. Disney+ The Mandalorian and its behind-the-scenes) dove-tailed with the challenges brought by a global pandemic, which forced content producers to prioritize safe and efficient production strategies.

Why Virtual Matters?

xR Stages are the present & future of FX production

This new style of production requires the introduction and integration of a variety of new technologies supported by a range of labor expertise. A well designed studio can leverage these new assets to fulfill almost every production type imaginable, and when correctly executed, generate a rapidly growing revenue stream that works in tandem with traditional studio models.

A comprehensive, expert approach to LED systems, spatial engineering and innovative technology for environmental design will pave the way for permanent solutions that far surpass today’s temporary techniques by promising reliable studios which re more robust and enduring than the approaches that have launched this burgeoning market.

Virtual production stages should not continue to be warehouses and sound stages with LED production technologies borrowed from concert  venues, but rather purpose-designed, holistically approached studios where all aspects of sensory experience and audio/visual recording are integrated into new, cohesive platforms for the production of new media assets.
