An Illuminated Gateway for West LA Living
StandardVision partnered with developer Hines, art consultants LeBasse Projects, and artist Akiko Yamashita for a comprehensive design-build project at West Edge, a vibrant live/work development in West LA. Strategically located with easy access to downtown, Culver City, and Santa Monica, the project required a unique approach to enhance its visual appeal and attract new tenants. StandardVision incorporated purpose-driven digital lighting and expert artist consultation, resulting in a seamless blend of creative vision and technological innovation.
A Celebration of Nature and Light
StandardVision collaborated closely with acclaimed digital artist Akiko Yamashita to enhance the entrance of the space with Hikari 10. The expansive artwork immerses visitors in narrative lighting inspired by California's diverse landscapes—evoking the vibrant hues of poppy fields, the serene beauty of Venice Beach sunsets, and the ethereal glow of starry nights in Joshua Tree. Powered by our proprietary content management software SVRunner, Yamashita’s creation transforms the space hourly, celebrating the harmonious connection between light, nature, time, and space.
