Enhancing the Travel Experience with Digitally-Driven Innovation
StandardVision was engaged by the historic Long Beach Airport to be part of its highly anticipated and multi-faceted renovation in celebration of the airport’s 100th anniversary. Our team was commissioned to design, fabricate, and install a bespoke high-resolution corner LED facade on the exterior of the arrivals and baggage claim area. Working closely with the Long Beach Airport team, StandardVision implemented this large-scale display to ensure seamless integration, while also preserving the historic architecture of the famed airport.
Seamless Digital Enhancements with Unmatched Expertise
StandardVision’s involvement extended beyond technical execution, as the team played a crucial role within the broader design collaboration. Working alongside project architects, the general contractor, and site teams, StandardVision ensured that all infrastructure was properly specified and quality checked prior to installation. Despite the complexity of this installation, StandardVision successfully completed the scope of work without interruption to airport operations, demonstrating our team’s expertise in executing digital enhancements without disrupting the flow of daily activities.
A Digital Homage to the History of Flight
The distinctive corner LED display was unveiled during the airport’s festive 100 Years of Flight event in November of 2023, celebrating the airport’s rich legacy by highlighting never-before-seen archival footage and stories of the airport’s history. Powered by StandardVision’s proprietary content management software SVRunner, this dynamic platform provides endless opportunities for community messaging, airport announcements, and engaging, site-specific artwork.
Reaching New Audiences Through Public Digital Art Programming
StandardVision’s creative team also worked closely with the airport team to curate a diverse art program tailored to the display to create a captivating, lively experience for all travelers. This project underscores Long Beach Airport’s commitment to honoring its storied past while embracing modern advancements, and highlights StandardVision’s role in enhancing traveler experiences through innovative digital placemaking.
